"For those of you who think Pagans are recent in Chicago: this is from Feb. of 1985. My teacher, Althea had been initiated more than ten years before that in Chicago. She's left of center and is now coming on 40 years of magickal practice. Before that occult revival, there were Theosophists, new thought practitioners, magickal lodges, masonic groups, spiritualists and groups with contacts to inner plane masters. Chicago has been a center for the esoteric community for years and years!"

Chicago Pagan Pride 2014

Chicago Pagan Pride 2014 is this Sunday, September 14th, from 11:00 am - 6:00 pm at

Pleasant Home, 217 Home Ave, Oak Park IL.

The event will include two public rituals, a variety of workshops, entertainers and vendors.

11 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Witchy Wearables - 4th Annual Fairy Day Event

 

If you live in the city, Witchy Wearables in Midlothian might be quite a ways for you to travel.  They are a small store with a nice supply of pagan jewelry, tarot cards, raw herbs and materials for making your incense and brews (at good prices) and a very small but carefully chosen collection of books.  This weekend they are hosting this event, which I've been told will have a lot of new jewelry on hand.

And while you're in the area, you might as well take the time to visit the nearby Bachelor's Grove Cemetery, the "Most Haunted Place in the World."
